Biography & Research Interests

Susan Smith is a Montana native, raised mostly in the Gallatin Valley area. She has a BS in Earth Sciences/Geography from Montana State University, Bozeman and an AAS in Information Services/Geographic Information Systems from Montana Tech of UM, Butte. After having worked with both traditional and digital cartography for 16 years for the Forest Service and BLM in Montana and Wyoming, she is currently the geologic cartographer for the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology in Butte, Montana.
