Graduate Research Opportunities—M.S. and Ph.D.
The MBMG is situated on the Montana Tech campus, and is a partner with Montana Tech. We offer the opportunity for you to do fully funded, hands-on graduate-level work on MBMG research projects, as an employee, with a time allowance to attend classes at Montana Tech.

Tuition Waivers
As an employee of the MBMG, you can qualify for a fee waiver at Montana Tech for 6 credit hours per fall and spring semesters, and 4 credit hours in the summer. Dependents can potentially receive 50% off of residential tuition. You can also apply for fellowships or scholarships.

Recreation
Montana Tech is on the Continental Divide, in the beautiful outdoor paradise of the Rocky Mountains. Forests, hiking and biking, and snowshoeing trails are 10 minutes away, and the Discovery ski area is close by. If you want to hike, fish, ride bikes, ski, or snowboard, we have it all in our backyard.

Festival City, with a Vibrant Arts Scene
Though Butte is known as the Mining City, it's also become a Festival City. We are renowned for hosting the Montana Folk Festival, An Ri Ra (a celebration of Irish culture), Snöflinga (a winter activity festival), the Butte 100 mountain bike race, and more. And no one celebrates St. Patrick's or the 4th of July like Butte. We also host excellent theater, makers, and artists.
