The John W. Taber collection describes the Crystal Mountain Mine, in Ravalli County, which was one of only two fluorspar mines in Montana. Taber directed the mineral potential evaluation, development, production, and closure of the mine. The collection contains documents and maps related to mine geology, engineering, development, and production. Specimens include drill core samples, logs, and thin sections.
