Biography & Research Interests

John Sanford is the GIS Manager with the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology. John has six years' experience in environmental consulting and 12 years' experience in the oil and gas industry before transitioning to the Bureau. The GIS Department at MBMG is focused on Enterprise level data management, data availability, and GIS Data Analytics; along with various mapping requests. We focus on providing mapping application solutions that provide search and download functionality in conjunction with analytical application products that allow both scientists and the public fresh perspectives on MBMG's data.
