Biography & Research Interests

Andres is a seismologist dedicated to improving earthquake monitoring in Montana by developing and applying innovative techniques, including artificial intelligence. His work focuses on enhancing the detection, location, and characterization of earthquakes statewide, from well-instrumented areas to regions with sparse seismic coverage. By combining modern data analysis methods with traditional seismological approaches, he aims to build more accurate and efficient monitoring systems that support public safety, scientific research, and community preparedness across the state.
