This is an open-file publication. MBMG open files are manuscripts and maps that are
released, but not considered formal publications; most have not gone through the
rigorous review and editorial process required for an official report. Some
open-file reports eventually appear as formal Bureau publications.

Description |
Groundwater from Quaternary–Tertiary basin-fill sediments and from Tertiary–Archean fractured bedrock units is used to support residential development in the Madison Valley, near Ennis, Montana. To assess the range of transmissivities for the different hydrogeologic units, the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology Ground Water Investigation Program conducted five constant-rate aquifer tests in three areas of development.
