The Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology is tasked with not only researching Montana's natural resources, but also getting that information out to the citizens of Montana. We have a Publication Sales Office in Butte, and a smaller one in our Billings office, though we make many of our sales online, and offer a large number of publications free for download. In 2022, we:

• Released 29 reports and maps, including digital publications
• Released 3 more chapters of the Geology of Montana volume
• Sold 2,461 physical reports and maps
• Enabled customers to download 173,267 free reports and maps
