Description As an initial screening to identify areas in Montana that may be appropriate for the MAR surface infiltration method, a suitability analysis was conducted using a geographic information system (GIS) and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). Four hydrogeologic criteria were chosen for the suitability analysis: geology/aquifer, depth to groundwater, soil permeability, and topographic slope. The final suitability map is provided as a plate and as an interactive WebApp that identifies locations that appear hydrogeologically suitable for MAR surface infiltration methods.
